Twitter’s most liked features hashtags (#) and trending topics are now under Facebook’s radar. People usually login to their twitter account to know what’s going on in the world at the moment. What is the world talking about! and If you see this feature on your newsfeed someday, don’t be surprised.
Facebook tried this feature live on the web on Friday by putting a small trending box on the top right corner of the newsfeed, where usually tickr sits! The Wall Street Journal Were the first to notice this and they quickly posted this on their website.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook is testing this feature on limited users in US right now. The launch of this feature is still not confirmed but Facebook will release more details if they decide to keep it.
A week back, a lot of people also complained about their tickr being disappeared. Maybe that had something to do with this too. It is quite clear that facebook has been experimenting on something and soon will be launching some cool new features.
Facebook is looking forward to add more features to offer something new to everyone. They have previously rolled out Graph Search to their users and in june they decided to allow Hashtags on their network. It is almost certain that Trending topics will be incorporated to it as well.
Trending Topics, has long been Twitter’s one of the best features and Facebook has an eye on it now. Since, facebook has much more users than Twitter, Trending Box on Facebook might be more accurate than Twitter’s. But we will see when it’s out!
